Provides all daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis to US Pipe Birmingham office.
Provides support to the VP/GM US Pipe Fabrication on manufacturing costs and variance analysis.
Prepares numerous schedules and reports related to plant productions, manufacturing costs and inventory valuation, including those used in the monthly report of operations.
Provides direction to plant managers on preparation of standards and variance analysis.
Assists the plant managers on preparation of reporting issues and ensures consistency of accounting treatment and reporting.
Researches questions from executives and department heads on cost of sales and inventory valuation.
Performs product cost analysis.
Provides financial analysis support to manufacturing department on cost improvement projects.
Assists in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan and monthly forecasts.
Performs other duties as assigned by the VP/GM US Pipe Fabrication and VP of Finance, Water Products.
Scope Data/Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
· The employee will be working in an office environment with limited business travel. However, it will require some business travel to the various fabrication plants, thus exposing the employee to Foundry operations.
The employee will be exposed (very briefly) to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Traits:
· Requires a minimum of a BS in Accounting or Finance. Must have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and an understanding of the policies and procedures employed by U.S. Pipe. Must have five years cost accounting experience and a thorough knowledge of the manufacturing process. Must have strong PC skills. Knowledge of Cognos, SAP and Essbase preferred. Must possess strong communication skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization.
