What You'll Do

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team supporting Cisco Capital.

As a Senior Corporate Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for supporting Cisco Capital Compliance program on a global basis as well as support for business development of various financing and other payment programs serving Cisco’s customers’ ability to acquire Cisco solutions.

Who You'll Work With

You will support legal and regulatory matters arising in the Cisco Capital business, including, without limitation, issues related to AML, data privacy, negotiating legal agreements with financing and banking partners. In particular, you will assist in bringing on and maintaining the relationships in line with Cisco’s standards. Experience supporting the development of new financial products and working reciprocally and cross-functionally to identify and resolve legal, regulatory, compliance and process challenges affecting business objectives. You also have experience with general accounting principles, including true sale elements related to portfolio sales.

Who You Are

You will provide direction to the Capital group to support the execution of its strategy, negotiating/amending program agreements and addressing all attendant issues. You will partner with the broader Cisco Legal team in negotiating/amending transactions & templates arising under or in connection with the program agreements with finance partners. Identifying and providing mentorship for all legal, regulatory and compliance matters impacting the business are also duties you will be responsible for.

The minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Developing and negotiating financing and related payment structures which include: private label programs; assignment models; consumption and utility models; and software financing
  • Minimum of 2 years of experiencesupporting regulatory and compliance in the financial services or related industry
  • Direct experience negotiating complex business transactions in a high-tech, distribution or direct sales environment
  • Knowledge of software, services, and other intangible financing preferred
  • Superior communication, negotiation, people and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable and confident in dealing directly with all levels of management
  • Work independently but collaborate with high energy, talented and fun team of professionals
  • Typically requires law degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction
