Sr Contracts Mgr

Job Designation

 The Senior Commercial Manager leads the Meggitt (Orange County), Inc. Performance Sensing Commercial activity and manages a variety of complex Customer Contracts.  Reviews and drafts complex contractual documentation and negotiates agreements in accordance with corporate policy, applicable legal requirements and sound business judgement. Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to the Commercial team, business unit and Executive leadership. As the leader for all Performance Sensing Contract matters, proven Commercial leadership capability in activities relating to extremely complex Contracts, emerging business models and regulatory requirements for Civil and U.S. Government Customers. 

Job Core Responsibilities



  • Leads all Commercial activity for Performance Sensing business
  • Provides organizational advice, training, development and guidance to the Performance Sensing Commercial Management team as well as other functions within the business unit
  • Leads Contract formation, negotiation, contract debriefing, interpretation, administration, revenue recognition and IFRS requirements
  • Leads all Contracting activity for Performance Sensing business including regulatory audits, U.S. Government FAR/DFARS standards, ISO certification requirements with agencies including but not limited to DCMA, DCAA and other regulatory agencies
  • Actively and independently leads the bid team responding in RFI’s or RFP’s for Commercial guidance including appropriate approval thresholds, developing business case and supporting all commercial risks through financial bid models
  • Independently leads Commercial activity and compliance related to complex cost and price analysis and ensures compliance
  • Leads strategic Commercial initiatives in Intermediary activity with Sales, business unit and Executive leadership to ensure Sales targets and corporate adherence are successfully achieved
  • Leads E-Commercecontracting practices and legal compliance issues for high Customer volume environment
  • Monitors and reports on performance and business metrics against contracts, drafts and leads in contract closedown/exit activities
  • Maintain all Contract matters in Sales Force CRM system, including active and expired contracts, dashboard reporting, contract review workflow and Opportunity tracking
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. Willingness to work additional hours as necessary at month, quarter or annual financial close periods

Job Specifications


  • Must have 10 years in Contracting leadership role and skills necessary to independently manage a challenging range of contract matters
  • Thorough understanding of product profitability and pricing analysis
  • Proven success in leading Commercial reporting and presentations through executive senior leadership at the highest levels of the organization
  • Must have strong understanding of U.S. Government Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) including but not limited to data rights, commerciality under FAR Part 12, cost and pricing requirements under FAR Part 15, cybersecurity and safeguarding unclassified information and small business subcontracting
  • Must have proven aptitude in managing Sales channel partner arrangements
  • Ability to source, structure and present business solutions to existing and prospective business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure partner/member related issues are handled in a fair, consistent manner
  • Proven experience driving continuous improvement in Contracting impacting revenue and mitigating risk
  • Experience in development of E-Commercebusiness model, development of contracting practices and legal compliance issues for high Customer volume environment
  • Ability to concurrently work multiple projects within requested deadlines
  • Salesforce and SAPexperiencepreferred
  • Ability to make timely, sound decisions and accurate commercial judgements in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding and clear interpretation of policy & procedures specific to Contracting
  • Ability to quickly and easily identify Customer requirements and supplier flowdown requirements
  • Must have the ability to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust.


Required Education / Certifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • DCMA or DCAA experiencepreferred
