If you are a supply chain leader with a track record of success building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers in support of both current and new product development, IDEXX may have the opportunity for you. We are seeking someone experienced in sourcing, negotiating contracts, developing and executing category sourcing strategies, and managing contract manufacturers to fill our Category Manager role for our PC Hardware and Accessories commodity.  If you have experience with– PC hardware, embedded computing, and computer peripherals, we want to hear from you!

At IDEXX, the Category Manager is responsible for their assigned spend categories, including the associated suppliers, internal stakeholders and the category sourcing strategy.  To be successful in this role, you need to be proficient at project management, to drive sourcing initiatives which have a significant financial impact. In addition, this role delivers value-added category management activities which include strategic sourcing, client stakeholder management, supplier performance management, supply market monitoring, continuous improvement and ongoing cost reductions, supplier review and issue resolution.   PC Platforms (OEM Computing, laptops, printing solutions)


  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in manufacturing or new product design/development capacity.
  • ISM (formerly NAPM) C.P.M./C.P.S.M. or A.P.I.C.S. C.S.C.P. certification preferred.
  • Training and/or experience with LEAN and Six Sigma practices is a plus.

What you need to succeed:

Candidates should have a demonstrated track record in PC Hardware and Accessories commodity, and a minimum of 5 years in developing and advancing category sourcing strategies that support key business objectives, resulting in significant cost savings and process improvements. Strategic sourcing experience and strong negotiation skills are critical for this role. Experience working in medical device/biochemical manufacturing industry is preferred. Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and interpret engineering terminology is a must. We are looking for an engaging, high-energy person with the ability to motivate others, who develops great relationships across all areas in a very fast-paced environment. ERP experience, knowledge of GMP and ISO 9001:2008 and/or ISO 13485:2003 requirement
