The Senior Business Director, US MS Sales reports to the Head of Sales, US MS Sales. There are three US Sales Directors, East Zone, Central Zone, and West Zone.
The role is responsible for delivering business results for assigned Zone through leadership and management of sales efforts for the MS product portfolio. You will be responsible for leading a regional field organization and executing on the commercialization of innovative products within the MS marketplace. This position is field-based in the West Zone of the US.
Missions and Objectives:
Leads a team of Regional Business Directors (RBDs) one Zone Development Manager (ZDM) and Area Business Managers (ABMs) to achieve business objectives within the Zone
Drives the performance of Genzyme’s MS product portfolio.
Key member of the national Sales Leadership Team, providing overall leadership to the Genzyme MS field organization
Drives forward projects and initiatives at the zone or national level to optimize the sales team’s performance
Strategically assesses and identifies critical analytics information required to ensure achievement of sales objectives
Helps define the culture, structure and future direction of Genzyme's MS field sales force
Builds and leads a high performance sales management team, including Regional Business Directors, to lead regions and drive performance
Creates a compliant environment which challenges, motivates and develops team members to reach optimum performance and potential
Sets clear objectives, coaches/mentors, and assesses performance and skill level to develop future leaders within the sales organization
Identifies, develops, and cultivates relationships with key opinion leaders on a regional level.
Provides strategic customer insights to the commercial team to develop and grow the MS franchise
Develops strategies and tactics in collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize return on investment
Develops Area budget allocations and ensures that Sales Teams take a disciplined approach to investment
BA/BS Degree required
Minimum of 15 years Pharmaceutical Sales and/or Marketing experience with at least 6 years
Sales Director/Manager experience in prescription pharmaceutical sales required
MS or specialty experience strongly preferred
Documented success in pharmaceutical leadership with a proven track record of delivering exceptional sales results required
Must be an energetic, driven, dynamic leader
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, communication and leadership skills required
Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, and require the same of his/her Team
Ability to travel up to 75% of time throughout Zone and to meetings as required
