Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our IT department. The ideal candidatewould meet the following requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting or related business degree. Master’s degreepreferred
  • At least five years of related experience
  • Extensive verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of technology
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and financial analysis skills and familiarity with financial modeling and ROI calculations and methodologies
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and experience with defined project management approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT trends, methods and applications in order to support business process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver against financial and resource constraints
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.


  • Implement project standards related to requirements documents, status reporting, project plan development and resource planning
  • Manage large scale projects with minimal supervision
  • Advocate for business improvement by leveraging technology and improving the KCL architecture
  • Define the business case and Return on Investment with project team, senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Direct and Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
  • Communicate and translate required business process capabilities and outcomes effectively between business process areas and IT
  • Document key business processes for all key IT initiatives
