Under minimal supervision, this position serves as an analytical resource focusing on highly visible, complex, and critical business priorities. Forecasts and establishes plans for defining, delivering, and supporting significant information technology components into the organization architecture. Directs the work of project team members to analyze, elicit, and validate requirements for information systems. Manages stakeholder relationships and communication in support of project solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Serves as a high level business analyst expert, providing leadership and highlighting risk on complex projects across multiple business areas, multiple platforms, and/or multiple locations.
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Considers business application of technology to both current and future business environment.
Identifies strengths and weaknesses of computer systems and processes, and recommends solutions.
Leads, develops, or modifies processes to resolve complex business issues, considering computer capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
Supports design, build, and test planning phases for large scope enhancements and projects.
Manages the evaluation of changes and troubleshooting for vendor software. Provides the necessary data and direction for management of the test efforts for software.
Provides input to management for strategic planning in order to meet changes in technology and processes.
Directs the utilization of requirements management tools.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation. Represents BSI through participation in national, regional, and/or local professional organizations.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice required.
Knowledge of how to practice requirements engineering according to several software development life cycles in a team environment required.
CBAP certification or equivalent within two years required.
Six years of business analyst experience required. To include:
Previous experience with requirements definition, business process analysis, system upgrades, IT systems implementations, application configuration, systems analysis, and unit/functional/system integration testing.
Two years Unified Modeling Language (UML) experience.
Previous blood banking experience preferred.
Previous FDA regulated device implementation experience preferred.
Prior experience with Power BI business intelligence tool preferred.
Advanced/ Expert level skills in writing SQL statements preferred.
