Purpose of Position:
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for writing, reviewing, analyzing, and maintenance of business requirements and related documents for both application development projects and application maintenance requirements.

Essential Functions
• Perform hands-on planning, gathering, documentation and maintenance of business requirements, including work flow analysis and process engineering
• Maintain a detailed understanding of business process purposes, dependencies and related systems
• Determine and executing the appropriate elicitation method to research, define and document business processes
• Write clear, concise, consistent User Stories which accurately decompose high-level concepts and requirements into detailed, workable deliverables
• Provide detailed clarification of business requirements to developers, quality assurance engineers, vendors, etc. throughout project and/or development cycle
• Collaborate on the development of user acceptance test plans and support their execution to ensure that requirements and quality objectives are satisfied for product owners
• Write and edit project Charters in collaboration with Project Managers
• Participate in Business Analyst peer reviews
• Act as liaison between Program Managers, Project Managers, Product Owners, and Marketing and IT teams as appropriate
• Facilitate open and clear communication and coordination
• Coach and mentor others in critical thinking, communication, and process analysis skills
• Report time and track tasks
• Perform other business tasks or functions as assigned
Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Required Skills:
• Recent, hands-on experience and knowledge of Business Analysis best practices
• Write and maintain clear and concise requirements artifacts (documents, process flows, samples, etc.)
• Clearly communicate technology issues to business partners and business issues to technologists
• Demonstrate expert facilitation skills in both one-on-one and small group settings
• Work effectively and interact with all levels of the organization including executive leadership
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Can conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information to determine solutions
• Question assumptions to ascertain their validity and evaluate appropriate solutions
• Exhibit the ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly and constantly changing environment
• Demonstrate ability to plan and manage medium to large scale project requirements while maintaining a high attention to detail
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and development of best practices
Required Technical Skills:
• Competence in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint
• Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS) or similar tools
• Experience with Requirement Management Software preferred (e.g. JAMA, Rally, etc.)

Education & Experience Requirements
• At least 5 years in a recent senior level Business Analyst role
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Relevant professional Business Analysis Certification(s) preferred
• Health Insurance industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasional walking
• Must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation
• Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment
• Working environment is stable and noise level is moderate
• Must be able to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as required
• On-call availability as needed
