Position Description:  Vocera is looking for a talented Build & Release Engineer to improve the efficiency of the development community and its build processes by developing scripts and tools that will further enhance the developerexperience. You will have demonstrated the ability to work in a dynamic and complex software build environment and enjoys optimizing build environments for speed and reliability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and manage build, deployment, and release systems for our software solutions, which span multiple hardware platforms
  • Maintain tools, scripts, and configurations to automate the continuous integration, compilation, build integrity, unit testing, reporting, continuous deployment, packaging, and distribution of our software
  • Assist team members with fixing build issues, maintaining build files, resolving build dependencies, and troubleshooting incremental build discrepancies
  • Research and collaborate across multiple teams to enhance and improve the build, deployment, and release systems and processes
  • Maintain effective documentation and metrics for the build, deployment, and release systems and processes

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent
  • 7+ years experience using Jenkins to configure, trigger, and execute automated build jobs and unit tests along with publishing the resulting binaries (experience with Pipelines is a plus)
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills
  • Experience using Gradle to resolve dependencies, build, and version Windows binaries as well as Java jars and Linux RPMs (preferably familiarity with Ant as well)
  • Experience using Artifactory to configure, publish, and manage Gradle, Maven, and YUM repos (CocoaPods and Gems repos is a plus)
  • Nice to haves: proficiency in Kotlin, Python, or Groovy, building iOS and Android mobile apps, configuring Docker containers, Terraform scripting, and/or Ansible Playbook
  • Less than 10% travel is required, international possible
