Key Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Demandware development team, you will provide high quality code solutions to meet client needs in the implementation, enhancement and support of Demandware ecommerce platform centric projects.
  • As a senior level developer, you will mentor otherdevelopers and have the opportunity to be a Technical Lead on projects.
  • You are expected to learn the Demandware platform and its reference application, SiteGenesis, earn the Demandware Developer certification and become an expert in the API, management tools, and capabilities. You will use this knowledge to plan, write, and test code to meet the requirements of tasks assigned, based on the technical specification for the task provided by your Technical Architect or Application Coordinator.
  • You will work with HTML5, CSS and Javascript as well as the proprietary Demandware toolset (DemandwareScript, pipelines, ISML templates) to customize Demandware’s SiteGenesis to create unique and innovative web experiences for our clients’ customers.
  • You will implement the layout and user experience specified in wireframes and PSDs delivered by our Information Architects and Creative Designers.
  • You will generally work independently on tasks, but participate as an active team member in daily scrums as part of our agile software development methodology. This includes joining sprint planning meetings as well as estimating work effort on tasks assigned. You will also be part of the Demandware development team, contributing to the team’s success through knowledge sharing in daily team building activities and weekly code presentations, as well as collaborating on internal initiatives as requested.


  • 5+years ofexperiencewith front end web development including:
    • Javascript, especially AJAX
    • Javascript frameworks (preferably jQuery)    
    • CSS and HTML (HTML5preferred)
  • Experience building dynamic data driven websites
  • Project or team lead experience
  • Mobile focused web development or responsive design experience is a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience developing in an eCommerce environment preferred, but not required
  • Demandware development experience a huge plus, but not required
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
