Manage the operational and financial planning and analysis functions of assigned business unit, and provide integrated analysis of financial and operational metric

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to enhance the operation of local news and sports networks
• Facilitate the forecast and budget process for expense and capital, and ensure all procedures and
activities comply with corporate guidelines
• Facilitate department-wide monthly expense projections and quarterly expense forecast
• Responsible for directing analysis of costs and metrics to provide managerial insight into the strategy
of the assigned business unit
• Provide analysis and ROI of assigned business unit initiatives
• Review assigned business unit’s expenses to understand the variances both in trends and to
budget and be prepared to present variances to leadership
• Review expense entries of the assigned business unit leaders and understand timing of their projects
prior to submission to Accounting
• Assist in ad hoc information and reporting requests from Leadership
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related equivalent experience
• Must have 5 years of experience in financial and statistical analysis as well as well as budget
and forecasting experience
• Industry related experience preferred
• MBA preferred

• Solid financial management skills including forecasting and budgeting planning
• Strong analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports and customer data
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
• Knowledge of budgets, P&L reports, systems and procedures
• Strong computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
• Knowledge of Essbase a plus
• Ability to find insights in data that can be transferred into new business strategies
• Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Interpersonal: ability to communicate with senior management, accounting and
purchasing management, vendors and all Local News and Sports personnel
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and a functional level
• Must be able to work under daily deadline pressure
• Communication: excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
ability to clearly communicate solutions; and able to relate well with diverse populations
and age groups; ability to train non-accounting staff in proper accounting procedures
• Must adhere to attendance guidelines
• Must be able and willing to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

• Works primarily inside throughout the year, but may require travel to off-site meetings
• Sits for long periods of time
• Requires long periods of personal computer use and telephone communications
• Communicates in person and by telephone, cellular phone and/or cell phone, and by email
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
• Must be able to work under time pressure deadlines and willing and able to work different
shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies.
Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
• Able to transport laptop
• Must be able to distinguish colors and discern sounds
