SQL Server Database Administrator Job Summary:

The SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) will be part of the Core DBA team providing Development, Test and Production DBA services for Global applications.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical DBA support for MS SQL Server production, development and test databases
  • Install database software, version upgrades/patches and tools
  • Monitor performance and provide SQL and database performance tuning
  • Responsible for configuration management and administration of mission critical production databases 
  • Implement recommendations to improve existing systems and implementations
  • Deliver technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development and planning of new major, large scale, production systems/databases 
  • Diagnose highly complex and integrated systems/databases such as system configuration, application design and application code 
  • Perform short and long term system/database planning and analysis 
  • Integrate / collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects 
  • Contribute to improving and creating DBA controls, procedures and standards 
  • Respond reliably to on-call issues in off hours as needed (on a rotating basis)
  • Learn / support additional database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL and others as needed
  • Be an excellent problem solver and team player, willing to roll up your sleeves to tackle any other issue / task assigned by supervisor or manager


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 5 years of experience +/- with MS SQL Server Database Administration.


  • In depth knowledge of performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools


  • Proven ability to design solutions and perform global enterprise database backup and recovery
  • Pro-active database management
  • Strong ability to address incidents, determine root cause and apply a structured approach in problem resolution
  • Expert communicator in the English Language / well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Ability to self-motivate, set goals and meet deadlines



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related technical discipline


Employment Eligibility Requirement:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and not require Visa sponsorship to be eligible. Because we contract with the US Department of Defense we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any otherrequired PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
