A Day in the Life

The SQL Database Administrator will oversee the operations and management of the SQL servers in a production environment where database availability is critical. Manage the data warehouse based reporting and data solutions. Understand the data structure of the production and reporting systems to meet the demands of business process changes and enhancements.

  • Install, upgrade and integrate SQL databases throughout the organization
  • Provide database support activities which include but are not limited to software installation, problem resolution, database maintenance and project implementation
  • Optimize data availability for production environment
  • Utilize Microsoft SQL server client tools in performing normal database administration duties
  • Identify, recommend and perform hardware upgrades based on business requirements

    Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience managing SQL databases
  • Significant experience with stored procedures, schema, triggers and tables
  • Knowledge of SQL development and architecture
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery
  • Understanding of OS Windows 2008R2/2012R2.
