Evaluate and treat patients through the use of therapeutic procedures intended to assess and improve communication and/or swallowing efficiency. The Speech Therapist practices in accordance with the State Practice Act.
Masters Speech Language Pathology Required*
*Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Certifications, Licensures and Registrations
Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology, American Speech Language Hearing Association Required*
Speech Therapy License North Carolina Required
CPR Certification American Heart Association Required
* or must be in the process or completing the CCC within the current calendar year.
For IRC Only: CPI certification preferred
0 - 1 Year Speech Therapy Preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated competency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speech language pathology.
Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization, including training for age groups likely to be seen at this health system.
Ability to assess patient needs and develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care.
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills preferred.
Computer skills required.
