About this Team

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic Specification Sales Manager with a proven track record in growing specification sales in the electrical industry. The Specification Sales Manager will ensure Acuity Brands products and solutions are specified and sold throughout Western North America. They will be responsible for significantly increasing specification sales through strong partnerships with our agency network and through meetings with assigned engineers, architects, lighting designers, distributors, and owners.

How you will contribute:

Provides training on product, related technologies, and sales strategies to agency personnel to stimulate sales.

• Participates with agency personnel in joint sales calls on the following customers to secure product specifications for the stimulation of sales:
• Engineers, architects, lighting designers, owners, property developers, facility managers, design-build contractors, and distributors
• Develops sales training and product presentation tools to equip agency personnel to increase sales.
• Manage territory opportunity funnel and competitive analysis and participate in ABS Lean process, develop countermeasures and report out monthly.
• Engages customer service challenges with escalations to engineering, post sales, and tech support to maintain effective communication with each and timely service to agencies and their customers.

Promotes products features, functions, and benefits at trade shows and other industry-related meetings to stimulate sales.

Qualified Applicants will have:

• University or College graduate, or equivalent work experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Late model vehicle
• Minimum 3 years’ experience calling on consultants and/or specifiers
• Specification Lighting and lighting controls experience will be preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be a self-starter with strong work ethic with the ability to work independently

Travel Requirements

• Ability to travel within Canada and the United States of America approximately 70% of the time.
