This individual would work independently to develop marketing communications and programs for Magellan's health plan products to support the sale of new business and retention of existing clients. They would work closely with Magellan marketing leadership, product management, account management and sales to develop collaterals, presentations and programs to sell to health plans and directly to provider organizations. Also required is an understanding of health plan member communications and ability to create communications that inspire and motivate action. Good working knowledge of the organization’s products and the overall industry is required, as are impeccable writing skills, strong marketing acumen and an ability to matrix-manage in a growth environment.

The individual will be capable of managing a program from strategy inception to program execution including plan development, creative development, compiling and analyzing reports, monitoring performance and budget. The individual will be able to move swiftly and easily between strategy and execution. They will need to write, edit, review and update communication and marketing materials as well as build campaigns, extend marketing messages to digital media and implement marketing strategy. In doing these things, the individual will collaborate with multiple departments and internal customers. Some work may require working directly with health plan client personnel.

This individual will manage moderate to complex projects, including planning and execution to drive utilization and satisfaction. Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and aligned to strategy are required. The individual must be highly organized and detail-oriented.

They will monitor and maintain a critical awareness of industry trends and client needs and respond/recommend as required. The position will define, build and maintain best practices and ‘templates’ for core marketing communications and promotional activities. They must have the ability to seek input/feedback to enhance/adjust, or create additional marketing plans as events/data changes. They must be agile and flexible.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Marketing or Communications emphasis or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of relevant commercial healthcare marketing experience required. Minimum of 3-5 years relevant customer-facing experience.
Skills, Competencies: Demonstrated strength in interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong business relationships. Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Solid leadership and consensus-building skills;marketing management and strategic planningexperience; a proven track record in developing and administering amarketing program. Extremely strong communication (written and oral), collaboration and presentation skillsrequired. Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills, most importantly PowerPoint and Word.

5+ years experience in marketing complex health and human service solutions and services to Government agencies., - Exemplify marketing acumen and the strategic marketing discipline as well as foster an inclusive environment where employees feel valued and recognized for their contributions. Able to navigate complex, highly matrixed organizations in a highly regulated industry successfully.
