The Specialist, OBS Operations Optimization, reporting to the Manager, OBS Operations Optimization, will support the design, development, and preparation of analytical studies and presentations supporting all areas across Onboard Services. This individual will also work directly with other Operations Optimization team members to collaboratively derive insights at the intersection of data analytics, innovation advancements, and operational realities to continuously improve OBS, over the short and long term.
Performs actionable analytics and develops preliminary recommendations, for strategic corporate and onboard initiatives, focusing on key performance indicators used to drive world-class performance and profitability.
Works to improve accuracy and integrity of catering data.
Build data sets from multiple data sources, both internally and externally.
Provides trends and reporting of overall operational catering performance as well as detailed root cause analysis of impacts.
Leverage emerging technologies, identifies efficient and meaningful ways to disseminate data and analysis in order to satisfy the business needs.
Interface with all departments of Onboard Services to develop and maintain internal customer relationships.
Works closely with Analysis and Performance and Customer Insights, Delta IT and other internal and external teams to leverage various data sources
Drives consistency in application of data as a management system, and lead continuous improvement in reporting and visualization of data, including onboard service dashboards.
Utilize statistical analysis of historical data, predictive modeling, benchmarking, and scenario analysis to establish reporting and inform strategic decision making.
Prepare presentations detailing analyses and recommendations to support leadership decision making across catering operations.
Demonstrate self-starter initiative to work with and support the team through influencing for ongoing optimization and development of next generation decision support, analytic and process improvement tools.
The individual will need to quickly learn potentially unfamiliar topics, while continuing to deliver accurate and timely results.
Bachelors' degree in a quantitative discipline and at least 3 years of analytical experience required. Graduate degree in quantitative discipline strongly preferred.
Must have technical, quantitative/analytical, organizational skills and demonstrate critical thinking with respect to cause & effect relationships.
Data analysis and mining experience required and must be able to quickly learn new data subject areas.
Extensive experience with advanced analytical software such as SAS, Python, and R required (SAS experience strongly preferred).
Ability to anticipate and plan for competing priorities, and negotiate deliverables accordingly.
Experience structuring and delivering presentations and communications targeted to varied audiences, including company leadership.
Candidate must be able to successfully execute and manage the scope, schedule and budget of multiple projects.
Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment with minimal supervision.
Must have expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Must be performing satisfactorily in current role.
