PosteThe Specialist - Global Sustainability, Reporting leads impact measurement for the Tiffany & Co. Global Sustainability & Philanthropy Team, including supporting LVMH data collection and reporting, Tiffany & Co. environmental and social responsibility regulatory reporting and progress against Tiffany & Co.'s net-zero goal. The Specialist is the team expert on emerging trends in impact measurement, synthesizing recommendations for continuous reporting improvement and driving alignment with sustainability related regulatory requirements. The Specialist reports to the Director - Climate and as such also supports progress against net-zero targets.
Location : This role is in-person at our Corporate Headquarters in New York, NY with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Sustainability Reporting - Effectively and accurately collect, analyze and report on audit-ready climate metrics, including but not limited to Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, packaging, unsold inventory, and building certification for annual reporting, striving for monthly data collection.
- Manage reporting to the LVMH Group, including but not limited to the quantitative and qualitative data requests for the Group's annual sustainability report and quarterly snapshots, aligning with stakeholders on LIFE360 targets, and responding to time-sensitive requests from the LVMH Group.
- Manage submission of sustainability metrics to regulatory and industry entities either directly or via LVMH Group, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, UK SECR, GRI, UNGC, and others.
- Manage the LVMH metrics assurance process, including supporting the day-to-day relationship with external auditors/reviewers of sustainability data.
- Manage collection of climate data from key indirect and direct suppliers to inform Scope 3 inventory, supporting transition from spend based data to activity-based data with supplier specific emission factors.
- Support real time analysis of data to drive decisions, such as informing climate reduction opportunities and tracking to net-zero target.
- Create compelling, evidence-based written and visual summaries of sustainability performance for both internal and external audiences, including dashboards, scorecards, slide decks and reports.
- Identify and prioritize stakeholder questionnaires and surveys. Develop and review Tiffany responses to surveys from regulatory bodies, suppliers, NGOs, and clients, including aligning with key internal contributors and reviewers (e.g., Legal, HR).
- Support Climate Director to drive progress on Tiffany & Co. net-zero strategy; facilitate stakeholder engagement, prepare progress reports, assist in executive updates.
- Support Climate Director in developing carbon accounting strategy, evaluating best practices for data capture, keeping an eye on industry trends, and staying up to date on available tools.
Data Platform Management - Manage and serve as the administrator of the sustainability software data collection tool (Pulsora). This includes but is not limited to maintaining data integrity and system functionality, overseeing system preparations for audit and reporting, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize system performance and incorporate enhanced, streamlined tools for data collection.
- Support onboarding, integration, and maintenance of all sustainability metrics in the data collection tool, including but not limited to diamond and metal traceability, responsible sourcing, and employee training.
- Manage integrations from internal and external data sources to the data collection tool, driving efficiencies and accuracy to minimize manual intervention.
- Serve as key contact for employees to provide training and perform minor troubleshooting on the data collection tool.
Sustainability Program Support - Manage reporting calendar for Sustainability team, ensuring metrics, stakeholders, deadlines, and data providers are up to date and communicated to stakeholder groups.
- Support the development of Tiffany's expert-facing sustainability report by serving as an expert on Tiffany's sustainability metrics and reporting frameworks (Global Reporting Initiative, UN Global Compact, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and others)
- Support ad hoc climate strategy projects, such as supplier engagement.
Industry Knowledge and Research - Maintain an up-to date understanding of and expertise in sustainability reporting. Monitor and benchmark reporting trends and changes to reporting frameworks and standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), UN Global Compact and others, to provide insights and recommendations on advancing Tiffany's external reporting practices.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding and expertise in relevant regulatory requirements such as CSRD, EU Green Deal, California Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act, and global packaging waste management requirements, among others. Liaise with Legal, Compliance and relevant Sourcing/Procurement and Operations teams to ensure Tiffany & Co. compliance.
- Monitor reporting and rankings of leading businesses in sustainability reporting, and proactively create concise, actionable briefing materials.
- Perform research and benchmarking on relevant sustainability topics, trends and best practices. Synthesize and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
The hiring range for this position ranges from $74,035 - $90,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in data management and reporting, preferably carbon emissions accounting
- Experience within a publicly traded company preferred
- Must be passionate about corporate responsibility / social and environmental sustainability
- Proven analytical and statistical skills. Must be able to identify anomalies, trends and stories from large, complex quantitative and qualitative data sets and distill the information and takeaways for key audiences
- Ability to perform advanced business analytics, including advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex subject matter in a clear and compelling manner
- Experience working in database programs, including serving as a system administrator
- Experience reviewing, synthesizing, and applying sustainability related regulations; influencing stakeholder engagement and driving on-time reporting
- Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Research experience and strong written communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting needs
- Demonstrated ability to work at both a very technical and big-picture strategic level
- Strong design aesthetic and ability to use advanced data visualization tools
- Industry knowledge and experience in corporate social responsibility reporting or metrics data collection
- Ability to work under pressure on competing responsibilities with resilience, discretion, and diplomacy
