The primary roles and responsibilities for this position are to develop, maintain, and update the Space Situational Domain Awareness (SDA), Battle Management Space Command and Control (BMC2) and Counterspace Development Plans to reflect the approved SMC/SP approach to meeting approved warfighter mission requirements. We are anticipating a HIGHLY ENERGIZED team of 2-3 contractors that can work independently to accomplish the following specific duties:
Study, analyze, investigate, and assess the capability and suitability of current and planned air, surface, space, and information system architectures with the existing SDA, BMC2 and/or Counterspace architectures for the ability to accomplish the daily SDA, Battle Management Space C2 and/or Counterspace missions
Link SDA, Battle Management Space C2 and Counterspace mission needs/requirements to system capabilities provided by the programs of record and their required technologies.
Identify opportunities and strategies for integrating in these architectures acquisition guidance related to Net-centric and service-oriented solutions for space architectures on a daily basis.
Analyze and assess on a daily basis; air, surface, space, and cyber missions for the impact of surface, air, Battle Management space C2 and information integration; system of systems factors; system vulnerability and survivability; system commonality; new technologies; enhancements; commercialization; cost effectiveness; and mission assurance.
Using the results from the SMC/SP architecture studies, develop a set of technical roadmaps that identify the granular activities and detailed steps required to transition systems from the “As Is” to the “To/Should Be” configurations.
Analyze capability gaps identified in the analysis and roadmaps and propose potential concepts to close those gaps with an emphasis on minimizing cost, schedule and disruption to the space control mission.
Upon government approval of the roadmap, monitor and track progress daily against the roadmap to identify any deficiencies or deviations that would result in failure to meet the intent of the “To/Should Be” configurations.
Update the roadmap annually to address changes rising from in direction or execution.
Minimum of fifteen years directly applicable experience with SMC and/or space related organizations.
Master’s degree in business, engineering, science (physics or chemistry), mathematics or related field.
TOP SECRET clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility and a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
