Engility is seeking an experienced professional to join the Space and Mission System Group (SMSG).  SMSG provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.

SMS Group has an opening for an experienced engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer.  The customer serves as principal advisor to the senior officials on matters pertaining to the technical readiness and execution of programs and projects.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support and manage the Enterprise Review Board (ERBs) process
  • Ensure effective engineering process and practices are implemented
  • Understand the impact of technical decisions
  • Participate in program readiness and design reviews
  • Ensure the development efforts are planned and conducted on a sound engineering basis with proper controls and management of technical risks
  • Provide technical support to customer activities and programmatic processes
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, brief government and industry as required
  • Provide task-based schedule and resource forecasts
  • Identify gaps between requirements and acquisition program capabilities being conducted by the IC customer’s Acquisition Offices
  • Work with the office of enterprise architecture to update related DoDAF views
  • Responsible for the overall reviews and technical readiness of R&D programs


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline
  • 10 years’ relevant experience in systems engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skills
  • Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work
  • Experience in Space and/or Ground System
  • Understanding of core systems engineering disciplines and processes
  • Experience in the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
  • Active TS/SCI with/Poly
