Job Position Summary Description:
As a Senior Solutions Engineer you will act as the technical expert in customer sales situations, including representing the product’s technical aspects, configuring and demonstrating the software to the customers, and understanding how the software’s capabilities can be used to resolve each customer’s business problems.
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
Act as technical advisor and product advocate to actively drive and support the sales process from technology evaluation, project initiation, and through customer success
Assist sales team to strategize and execute on opportunities, including running technical presentations, meeting with and gathering technical background and requirements from customers and prospects, and refining demonstrations to address customer-specific requirements.
Innovate and contribute to developing assets, knowledge and approaches used in sales engagements with account teams and product marketing
Excellent presentation and communication skills to diversified audiences, including technical staff to CxO executives
Excellent project management skills with experience leading combined teams
Location: Candidate should be located in: San Jose, CA; Austin, TX; or Murray Hill, NJ
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
ability to modify/customize messaging and value proposition to specific customer situation and requirements, and deliver in appropriate way to any level of customer audience, from IT technical audience thru C-Level
Capability and willingness to support in all stages of the sales cycle, including RFP response generation, demonstration preparation and delivery, POC project leadership, solution architecture development, and customer presentations
Established technical foundation and ability/willingness to become proficient in core technologies of the Nokia platform, including Eclipse/Java, HTML5, SQL, and R analytics.
Ability to communicate crisply, concisely, and effectively, both verbally and in written mediums.
Experience excelling and executing in environment that requires individual to be self-initiating and independent thinker while able to request and coordinate assistance from other groups/personnel at Nokia (e.g. Product Management, Engineering, and Solution Delivery)
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a Pre-Sales Solution Engineering role for a software company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor Degree in a technical area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering); or equivalent work experience
