  • This position could be based out of the San Diego, CA office, one of our many corporate offices, or a home office location
  • We are looking for a dynamic PhD scientist to work closely with customers and the BIOVIA sales team to provide pre-sales support for our applications that are used in predictive science, molecular modeling, and simulation in the life sciences industries
  • Our Designed to Cure enables therapeutic delivery, the prediction of critical design and manufacturability characteristics and delivers an integrated, comprehensive and rational drug development approach through virtual design, collaboration and knowledge driven innovation

What will your role be?

  • The Solutions Scientist will work closely with customers and BIOVIA’s North American multi-disciplinary team who support Dassault Systemes’ BIOVIA business related to the Designed to Cure solutions experience
  • The Solutions Scientist will also have the opportunity to work closely with the sales team providing scientific and technical presentations to promote our products and services, both to new and existing customers
  • Drive responses regarding Requests for Information as well as Request for Proposals (RFI and RFP)

The challenges ahead

  • Key responsibilities will include providing marketing input for product development, coordinating the delivery of services by departments within the company, and proactively managing customer accounts in concert with the Sales team
  • You will have the opportunity to illustrate how target identification, candidate selection, and lead optimization can be achieved through structure based drug design, phamacophore and ligand-based design, macromolecule design and analysis and antibody modeling
  • Due to the high customer-facing nature of the role, this position requires someone with outstanding interpersonal skills and a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time

Your key success factors?

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical disciplines or related fields
  • Strong background in predictive science with hands-on experience within the life science industry
  • Robust understanding of molecular modeling, computational chemistry, and computational biology
  • Use of molecular modeling tools for structure based drug design, macromolecule design and antibody modeling
  • Experience in biotherapeutics based design, synthesis, characterization in lead identification
  • Experience with NGS, genomics, proteomics & systems biology techniques, and related software applications are a plus
  • Previous Pipeline Pilot experience is a bonus
  • Ability to travel overnight, travel will be estimated to be at approximately 30%
