Advanced Compute & Solutions is in search of a software program manager with a background in managing at the solution level.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced software program manager interested in providing key contributions in a growing business. You will be joining HP’s Personal Systems group to help deliver world class solutions to HP’s Workstations customers. The Candidate will join the team helping our customers exploit their business benefit through enabling creative solutions.
Responsibilities/Critical Competences
- In collaboration with other product owners, define the solution strategy and roadmap
- Periodic meeting with product owners & stakeholders of various Workstation programs and ensuring that their needs are understood
- Deliver SRDs (Solution Requirement Document) with prioritized features and corresponding justification/benefits to end-users
- Collaborate with the R&D team and ensure that products are being designed/developed/tested as per requirements & quality expectations
- Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
- Be an expert with respect to the competition
- Work with Marketing team and own the development of the core positioning and messaging for the product, along with plans for whitepapers/industry-expert comments etc.
- Plan pilots, Proof-of-Concepts (PoC-s) etc. to understand customer feedback and bring insights back to the organization
- Perform product demos to prospective customers
- Work with Region partners (and channel partners, as applicable) on sales & marketing strategies for success in the marketplace
- Own pricing strategy to meet revenue and profitability goals
- Own development of sales tools and collateral
- Brief and train the sales-team at quarterly intervals
- Support marketing team on press-briefing/tours
- Periodically present solution-status to HP executives and seek advice/suggestions
- Manage direct & indirect team-members and allocate responsibilities
- Oversee budget considerations
- Formulate methods that will improve productivity within limited costs
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex technical content to executive and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems
- Experience in conceptualizing broad direction, contribute to enhancing it and enable bringing it to market.
Education/Experience
- BS/MS in Business Management, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong program/project management skills at the solution level
- Ability to lead across teams, companies & cultures to achieve results
