In this role, you will:
Be a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, and are accountable for the architecture and design of secure, scalable quality solutions.
Help guide the execution of deliverables from inception to implementation, not only collaborating with the delivery teams to ensure business needs are being met but also architecture peers in an effort to establish clear alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles, strategies and roadmaps.
We are looking for solution architecture experts in multiple technology domains, including:
Digital platform architecture to evolve Sonnet Insurance
Guidewire architecture to transform core insurance system capabilities
Data architecture to expand Data, Big Data and Analytics platform capabilities
Integration and Service architecture to enable application integration, 3rd party API’s, Micro Services, ESBs, and more.
You are an expert in one or more of these domains and have a drive to expand your knowledge in support of Economical’s strategic vision.
Define the detailed solution architecture covering business, data, application, technical and security aspects including all functional and non-functional requirements, often crossing multiple technology domains
Prepare and present options analysis material to key IT and business stakeholders
Work with delivery teams and integrators on the implementation of the solution, supporting, guiding, and influencing them throughout the project lifecycle
Participate in software selection and acquisition processes
Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure strategic alignment to architecture principles, strategies, and roadmaps
Participate in the Enterprise Architecture community by showcasing your creativity and expertise to help formulate and shape architecture roadmaps, and execute on technology strategies
As an expert in your respective architecture domains, provide support and mentorship to operational and delivery teams in their day to day activities, as required
Your Skills and Experience
University degree or college/information technologydiploma in a related discipline
8+ years IT architecture or related IT engineering experience
Advanced knowledge of one or more of the listed technology domains, along with associated technical infrastructure and securityarchitecture expertise
Proficient in related industry standards, tools, frameworks, and patterns
You have an ability to understand complex business architecture and processes such that you can apply your technical knowledge in a meaningful and effective manner to maximize benefit while reducing risks and optimizing investment
Applicable experience implementing solutions in a medium to large enterprise is a must
Experience with a wide breadth of tools, operating systems, programming/scriptinglanguages, etc. is a must with a drive to continually learn and embrace new technology
Cloud implementation experience is considered a strong asset
Experience in the financial sector, and specifically the insurance industry is a very strong asset
Key technology in our environment includes:
Data Platforms (e.g. Cloudera – HBase, Impala, Hive, Map Reduce, Spark, Flume, Pentaho ETL&BI, Cognos, Oracle, SQL Server)
Digital Architecture (e.g. Ruby on Rails, AngularJS, HTML5, jQuery), Kentico CMS
Guidewire Architecture (Insurance Suite including Guidewire Policy Center 8, Billing Center 8.Including extensive knowledge of Guidewire APIs and Batch functionality
Integration and Service Architecture (SpringBoot Microservices, IBM IIB, MQ, DataPower Gateway/API, SOAP and REST services, extensive external integration experience)
