Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for day to day technical operations such as installation and configuration, operation and maintenance of the Outage Management System. This position will be responsible for understanding, documenting, planning and execution of system upgrades and disaster recovery processes with minimal impact to the end user. This position will also implement new features within the software and assist with any critical support issues.

Must be a self-starter who can work with little direct supervision and can deal with complex business and technical situations. Must be team oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, communicate effectively and can collaborate with local and or remote personnel to provide fast and effective solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field and five years of outage management systems experience. Requires three years of relevant IT experience. Relevant experience includes installation/configuration/operation/maintenance of software systems.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

The successful individual must have a knowledge of:

  • Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills
  • Intermediate Javascript/HTML/CSS skills
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2012 administration skills a plus
  • Intermediate VB.NET skills. (Visual Studio 2015/2012)
  • Working knowledge and development experience of object oriented programming
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN basic features and functionality
  • Configuration Management – moving code from development, testing and production environments
  • Experience in the utility sector and knowledge of utility services a plus
  • Basic understanding of electricity and electrical networks a plus
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and assertive while possessing the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Create necessary technical and architectural documentation
  • Troubleshoot programming changes, errors, and subsequent modifications; must be able to do this with the work of other programmers
  • Work as part of a team to ensure existing application systems run smoothly
  • Provide input on how to continue to improve the technology
  • Desktop administration skills are a plus
  • Ability to analyze user requirements and design applications to meet business needs
  • Agile experience a plus

Candidates must have demonstrated proficient skills in Microsoft Office products. Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately, conceptualize, handle multiple priorities, and apply tact, diplomacy, reason and logic. Candidate must be comfortable working closely with and relying on vendor provided support groups. Candidate must have demonstrated skills in communications to all levels.
