We are looking for a full-time Software Quality Analyst for our office in Yarmouth, Maine. In this role, you will be responsible for performing software quality assurance development and testing activities for Garmin’s products in a team-oriented environment. Other essential functions include:

  • Develop, maintain, and & review test cases as necessary per test process including feature interaction, stress & performance to improve continuous test coverage
  • Create test plans that are applicable to each release by working closely with product development teams to ensure quality and usability of Garmin products
  • Execute test cases/scripts as identified per test process
  • Analyze test results and users’ feedback, and communicate with product development teams to assist in problem resolution.
  • Analyze test results (also comparing one build to another) to create periodic test reports per test process
  • Analyze defects to add new test cases to improve test coverage
  • Provide leadership in first level defect analysis
  • If identified as test coordinator for a product, lead overall test planning and execution for that product
  • Define new or improved test processes
  • Provide leadership on mid to large sized projects with responsibilities that include test planning, test activity coordination and reporting test results to development teams.
  • Perform job functions independently with minimal direction from supervisor
  • Gain understanding and apply detailed knowledge of Garmin processes and procedures
  • Train and mentor new team members


Qualified candidates possess an Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school or a minimum of 4 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a Garmin International Software Quality Specialist or 4+ years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
  • Must possess relevant experience and/or training in software quality assurance processes and methodologies relevant to Garmin’s business needs for this role
  • Must possess relevant experience and/or training creating test plans, conducting usability tests, and/or writing test scripts
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, Superior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5), and previous experience working in a team environment are highly preferred.
