The Homeland Protection Systems Group (46) conducts systems analysis on a broad range of problems related to surface surveillance, force protection, and homeland defense. Group 46 seeks a Software Programmer  to design, development, and support of technical programs utilizing modern software engineering techniques, programming tools, and support processes.

               

Assignment:  The candidate will work in the following areas:

Domains: Software/application design, development, and support; coder; system configuration management; system troubleshooting.

Design, develop, and support technical programs utilizing modern software engineering techniques, programming tools, and support processes for Laboratory program managers and technical staff.

Participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities.

Evaluate and propose use of open source and commercial software, frameworks, and tools where applicable.

 

RequiredExperience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate will have a MS plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum experience.
  • Candidate will have strong Java background.
  • Candidate will have experience with Maven, JUnit, Log4J, dependency injection, plugin development.
  • Candidate will have experience with web API development (RESTful services).
  • Candidate will have ability to optimize/translate existing algorithms.
  • Candidate will have familiarity with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ.
  • Candidate will have strong familiarity with GIT.

  • Candidate should have familiarity with MATLAB, python, C++, Android.
  • Candidate should have experience with association/correlation algorithm development.
  • Candidate should have experience with decision logic algorithm development.
  • Candidate should have experience with socket programming.
  • Candidate should have experience with interfacing with hardware (e.g., radar systems).
  • Candidate should have ability to analyze and understand large existing codebases.
  • Candidate should have UI development experience.
