Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Software Product Champion plays a key role in the merchandising/sales engine at Howard Technology Solutions. This position has many responsibilities specific to a particular brand/category, but is an employee of Howard Technology Solutions. Approximately 60% of the time is spent growing the specific brand/category revenue/profit, maximizing margin, negotiating pricing, and evaluating new product opportunities. Approximately 40% of the time is spent formulating a marketing plan to promote/sell product. The Product Champion provides first-level resolution to questions and issues raised by sales representatives and managers and works with them to identify and close vendor business opportunities. Detailed duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Own vendor opportunities by assisting sales reps and managers in promoting, qualifying, and closing new business
• Track and report sales and manage the pipeline as a recurring priority including preparation and review of open quotes, status, and proactive work with sales reps to close deals
• Execute demand generation campaigns to identify leads and build their pipeline
• Develop and deploy communications and training vehicles and materials for the sales organization
• Manage inventory
• Manage Road Maps
• Monitor all communications from vendor and ensure product information and pricing is accurate
• Know key vendor contacts and resources to help expedite product questions or solutions
• Serve as main point of contact for represented product lines for sales representatives on a daily basis
• Establish a relationship with all Sales Managers
• Assist in revenue impacting projects and events
• Coordinate aspects of sales trainings and events
• Develop and manage sales focused programs specific to building vendor product knowledge throughout sales teams
• Report results and tracking success metrics
• Attend sales managers meetings as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Strong analytical and organizational sResponsibilities

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • 1-2 years of marketing and/or sales experience in technology related field
    • Solid negotiation and customer service skills
    • Must be able to work extended hours or travel as needed


  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of marketing and/or sales experience in technology related field
    • Sales, merchandising, and product purchasing skills
    • IT reseller, distribution, or channel experience
    • Sales and marketing experience around vendor solutions
    • Solid negotiation and customer service skills
    • Ability to develop marketing strategies and training materials for assigned product lines
