We're a python shop on the Flask framework. We use docker. We do continuous deployment. We work in 4-6 person scrum teams, writing new features and customized business logic for our clients. We limit meetings, so you're focused on the stuff that matters. If you get stuck on a problem you're working on, your team is right there to help you out and get you moving again. Our brand-new office has plenty of space to explore. Feel like you need a change of perspective? Go work in our garden, or the cafe or the library.

Engineering managers at Catalant are on a mission to build a high performing team that works together to deliver customer value. They are responsible for executing on the vision of the VP of Engineering to continuously improve each stage in the life cycle of an engineer: recruiting, on-boarding, feedback and reviews. Engineering managers have 8-10 direct reports across multiple scrum teams and are not expected to write code.

What challenges you'll help us address

  • Establishing the Catalant brand in the Rochester market as a highly desirable employer for engineers
  • More than tripling the size of the team by the end of the year
  • Coaching and growing engineers to be a high performing team
  • Fostering an autonomous office culture that still collaborates effectively with engineers in headquarters
