BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to lead the software sustainment and development of the Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT) application. The qualified candidate will work in a rapid development environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Tasks may include coding, debugging, and integrating software, as well as the integration, regression, and requirement testing of complex SW/HW systems. The candidate will also lead software development with a small team (3 to 5) of software engineers and help define their day to day tasking. The candidate will be responsible for reporting progress and roadblocks to the chief engineer on a daily basis and program management as needed.

This position may require business travel in support of product demonstrations, software installation, technical exchange meetings and system testing.

The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with platforms and mission applications for intelligence and defense customers with domain emphasis on Geospatial Intelligence, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), and Targeting Systems.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

-Active Secret clearance

-Proficiency in multiple high level programming languages

(e.g., C++, Java/J2EE, C#, etc.)

-Architecture: Web Services (REST and SOAP) and/or SOA

-Understanding of interfacing databases

-Understanding and skills in software design and code, including Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD)

-Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment

-Strong oral and written communications skills

Preferred Skills and Education

-Software related work (e.g., software development, IA, web development)

-Operating Systems:UNIX/Linux/CENTOS, Windows, Solaris

-Development methodologies: A strong understanding of Agile

-Database tools and design: Postgres, SQL

-Development tools and service: Jboss/Wildfly, Jenkins, Docker, Weblogic, Sonarqube

-User Interface development tools

-Configuration Management tools: Subversion, and/or Git

-Algorithm development

-Basic understanding of Software Security

-Open Source, cloud and virtualization software and services (AWS, Kubernetes, PCF)

-Familiarity with current Web UI frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, Angular, and/or Ember

-Familiarity with Web UI frameworks: JQuery

-Familiarity with /Exposure to FishEye, Jenkins (building continuous integration jobs), W3c standards

-Familiarity with JTT
