Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Hartford, CT.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Responsibility, at a high level, includes application availability, reliability and stability on a 7 by 24 by 365 basis

• Be willing to work on 24x7 on call basis

• Lead Onshore and Offshore team to achieve key business objectives

• Lead medium to large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives

• Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making

• Develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business

• Provide alternate design solutions along with project estimates

• Designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value

• Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams

• Troubleshoot production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions. Be able to solve complex production issues

• Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them

• Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

• Participates in the development of business strategy

• Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

• Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches

• Will be expected to function as a mentor for junior developers, providing assistance where needed

• Will be expected to handle smaller projects completely on their own, including interactions with other teams and 3rd parties for design and architecture

• Ensure timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding SLAs

• Ensure that the work delivered by the team is of high quality

• Work with business to prioritize production issues for resolution

• Assist SLO/Manager in providing management status reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis

• Assist SLO/Manager in scheduling Operational and Work Order tasks including management of customer-driven priorities

• Ensure that all documentation has been updated and that work product meets UDP / SOX compliance requirements

• Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan

• Be a liaison between offshore resources and business/ onsite IT management

• Assist in Providing estimates (or coordinate estimates from off shore) on all break/fix, and problem-management activities

• Identify application performance improvement initiatives and implement the same in consultation with the Manager

• Work with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager in process improvement initiatives as directed by the service manager

• Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan

• Provide leadership in critical production issue resolution (both Priority 1 and Priority 2)

• Involvement with senior management in terms of supplying input for key design and architecture decisions, as well as work estimation and resource planning

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in full Software Development Life Cycle for managing systems scope and release objectives

• 4+ years of experience working as a Java developer

• 2+ years of Web Service / API development is REST and SOAP

• 2+ years of Production Support experience

• 2+ years of DB2/Oracle databaseexperience

• 2+ years of UNIX commands and scripts experience

• 1+ years HIPAA EDI - X12 experience especially in 270, 276, 837, 278, 834, 820 transaction sets

• 1+ years' experience in Jenkins, XL Deploy, DevOps, J2EE Frameworks, JBOSS Application server

• Java, Webservices, Jenkins, XL Deploy, DevOps tools, J2EE Frameworks, JBOSS, DB2, SQL , Unix

• Knowledge of ANSI HIPPA EDI transaction set.

HIPAA EDI - X12 experience especially in 270, 276, 837, 278, 834, 820 transaction sets
