Juniper’s Contrail team is looking for a senior software technical engineer to help evolve Contrail SDN controller into NFV space by adding carrier grade capabilities around fault tolerance, HA and high packet performance.


  • Design, architect and implement features in Contrail’s SDN controller in an agile fast paced manner
  • Perform functional and unit testing and automate as much as possible
  • Write functional specification, technical design documents  and blog posts
  • Work closely with product managers and senior management to influence the product evolution  
  • Front end customer solution design engagements in telco cloud/SDDC space, understand their unique requirements and, lead a team to develop the necessary capabilities into the product
  • Evaluate open source technologies and build a case around their use when adding new features into the product
  • Take ownership for the work done and the end-to-end customer experience including packaging and delivery

Required Skills

  • Experience working with Infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (Openstack, vSphere)
  • Hands-on experience programming in C++ and Python using object oriented concepts
  • Expertise building a distributed system, preferably with Open Source technologies
  • Deep understanding of SDN/NFV space
  • Prior experience in Linux based development and Networking  
  • BS/MSdegree in Computer Science with 10+ years of software development experience
  • Self Starter - someone who is able to work independently with little hands-on supervision delivering to aggressive timelines
