Currently seeking Software Engineers to support PMA209's Avionics Architecture Team (AAT) IPT in establishing interoperable and open avionics architectures across the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE).
Essential Job Functions:
Manages technical processes in support of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Academia independent validation of the FACE standard.
Performs the role of a technical advisor to the FACE Lead Engineer.
Assists in the oversight of a team of 10-15 research scientists and engineers from Academia during the design and development of FACE reference implementations and software development tools.
Participates in the FACE Consortium Technical Working Group (TWG) Reference Implementation Guide subcommittee.
Responsible for the review and testing of all Academia deliverables.
Supports Prime Contractor led design reviews and reviews the Prime Contractor developed design documentation.
Drafts and provides input for the FACE requirements (SOW/SSS/CDRLs) at an appropriate level of detail for the phase of the program.
Attends all Academia meetings (PMRs, TIMs, WEBEX, and face to face) and provides subject matter expertise and briefings as required.
Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A BS degree in SoftwareEngineering is preferred.
Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
At least 10 years of experience in an Engineering/Science Field, with at least 6 of those years working with avionics systems.
Knowledgeable of current NAVAIR policy relating to software integration is a plus. Experience working with SDK, ITK and Conformance tools is preferred.
