You will be part of an effort to deploy a low-earth satellite-based communication system to provide global internet service. You will be developing software for the network access controller (NAC) Ground Network and User Terminal (UT) reference platforms. This Air Interface is has a custom PHY and MAC layer that is compatible with the Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
You will be part of the software team delivering high-performance software for a novel reference platform on an aggressive timeline. You will be part of a team delivering a custom high-performance MAC and Upper layer protocol software on an aggressive timeline. You will be part of a team that handles design and development of complex system level protocol features based on customer driven requirements. You will be contributing to the latest ideas and developments in satellite based wireless communication. Responsibilities include developing data and control plane modules like, PDCP, RLC, MAC and RRC/RRM, NAS.
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
-2+ years of software engineering or related experience
2+ years in the following:
-Embedded software development, firmware development, real-time operating systems or multi-threaded software development
-Operating systems fundamentals, Data Structures
-Programming Experience (C, C++ or Object-oriented Design) 3GPP (3G/4G) protocols stack development experience especially in at least one of the upper layers (L2/L3/NAS/data services) protocols
-Strong knowledge of networking concepts
-Experience in complex software debugging
-Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
-Collaborates with cross-functional teams to debug complex issues at a block/system level;.
-Working independently with little supervision
