The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

The Independent Agency Experience team in Distribution Technology is looking for a Software Engineer. In this role, you'll be part of an agile team focused on enhancing the experience of Independent Agents through collaborating on work to build out the Independent Agent Portals and other agent experience applications for Personal and Small Commercial business. This team supports our agents on their journey to service and sell to our insureds as well as increase their knowledge of Liberty offerings. You will work with your team to deliver innovative solutions and share best practices across the broader organization. Our team works with new and emerging technologies such as Azure, .Net, Spring Boot, React, DevOps, CI/CD, and CMS.

Qualifications

• Three years of software engineering experience.
• Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
• Demonstrated success in platform modernization initiatives, utilizing technologies such as REST; micro services; cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; and Java, NodeJS and Spring Boot.
• An ability to code in multiple languages, including an object-oriented language, preferably Java/J2EE.
• Strong oral and written communication skills-and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
• A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
• A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools.
• A Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
