Enabling the movement toward advanced chip design, KLA's Measurement, Analytics and Control group (MACH) is looking for the best and brightest research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers and senior product technology process engineers to join our team.

The MACH team's mission is to collaborate with our customers to innovate technologies and solutions that detect and control highly complex process variations—at their source—rather than compensate for them at later stages of the manufacturing process.

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Our MACH team develops leading-edge solutions for patterning process analytics and control technologies, thereby providing customers with critical insight at the feature level, field level and cross-wafer analysis. Our teams also develop advanced modeling simulation, data analytics and process control modeling technologies.

We are looking for a software engineer with experience in the Microsoft Visual Studio C#/C++, and Qt development environment. The candidate must be skilled in modern development practices, including object oriented design, design patterns, and automated unit testing. Knowledge of software architecture fundamentals is also required.

The software engineer will be a technical contributor on our lithography and etch patterning commercial software development team working on challenging problems in the semiconductor production domain. The product development includes new product releases as well as maintenance releases in the areas of mathematical data analysis algorithms, graphical data representation and user interfaces, database storage and management, real-time data processing and others. Key attributes of the successful candidate are being a self-starter, problem solver, collaborative team player, and high productivity contributor.


  1. Developing software requirements and technical specifications from marketing and field engineering requirements
  2. Software design, implementation and unit testing in collaborative team environment using Microsoft VS C# and C++
  3. GUI design and implementation using Qt, .Net WinForms, ASP.Net, and MFC
  4. Collaboration with SQC team on test cases development and test execution
  5. Mentor and lead other members of the engineering team
  6. Planning of technology and architectural updates to current and new product releases to achieve business objectives
  7. Estimation of task, feature, and release sizes
  8. Project management support, including tasks planning and ensuring completion of releases
  9. Development and introduction of process changes and best practices
  10. Remote communication with US and international product contributors

Minimum Qualifications

BS/BA in computer science, computer engineering or similar field

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio C# and C++ development environment
