The Software Engineer will be involved in the design, estimation, documenting and delivery of significant application capabilities contributing to the overall mission of the application development team, while working closely with the Solution Architect and/or IT management relevant to defining requirements and timelines that are appropriate and in alignment with each business unit?s needs and strategic objectives. The Software Engineer works independently and leads others in the delivery of solutions that are consistent with the Technology Division?s mission, strategies, plans, standards and guidelines.


  • Select and apply strategies, policies, plans, and standards applicable to development activities and their deliverables
  • Provide technical expertise in areas such as web services, communications, databases and security
  • Use and interpret data and information to support technical analysis activities
  • Monitor the compliance of development activities and their deliverables with any relevant legislation, regulation, and external standards
  • Verify that the development activities and their deliverables meet the physical designs
  • Discuss, negotiate, and agree how the software will function with sponsors and stakeholders during development activities
  • Ensure that the software created meets the functional requirements
  • Assist with securing sign off of final development deliverables from sponsors and stakeholders
  • Critically analyze the effectiveness and quality of development activities and their deliverables
  • Design, code, test and document programs


  • Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, .NET 3.5/4.0, ORM / LINQ, Web Services, AJAX, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, HTML, T-SQL, MS SQL Server
  • Familiar with integration design patterns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Experience, Education, and Certifications

  • Required Experience:   7years application development/IT experience with C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server, experience with Java technologies highly preferred
  • Required Education:    Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Technology or equivalent or12years?experience in application development
  • Recommended Certifications: At least one of the following certifications is required: MCSE, MCSD, MCSA
