Job Summary

The MedInsight engineering team develops an industry-leading software as a service data warehouse platform, analytical tools, and custom applications for healthcare providers, payers, community coalitions, and all payer claimsdatabase customers. We are looking for creative, passionate, and enthusiastic engineers that can help build the next generation of MedInsight products and solutions.

Above all else, we are interested in people that are excited about developing new solutions, working in a fast paced environment, and collaborating with individuals outside of the engineering team to solve problems. Most members of the engineering team wear numerous hats, so the ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter with a solid software development foundation, who is interested in working with our team of experienced developers, while making measurable impact. The healthcaretechnology space is constantly evolving, so it is essential for success that candidates be able to learn new processes/technologies and to adapt quickly. The Milliman MedInsight group is rapidly growing, so successful candidates will have opportunities to grow within their positions and within the larger team.

Skills and Experience

Below is a list of the skills and background that align with the projects that the team is currently working on or plans to work on in the near future. No one is expected to have (or is capable of having) all of these skills, but we are looking for applicants who have background, experience, or professional interest in a number of the following:

  • Engineering, technical, physical science degree, or relative technical work experience;

  • An understanding of general Business Intelligence best practices, data warehousing, or relational database development;

  • Experience building solutions leveraging the cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.);

  • Experienceworking with large data sets;

  • Understanding of OLAP technologies (Analysis Services);

  • Experience with massively parallel processing (MPP) databases;

  • Healthcare concepts and data experience;

  • Healthcare informatics, analytics, and reporting knowledge;

  • SharePoint development or administration experience;

  • C# or similar object oriented programming language experience;

  • Understanding of design patterns and when to use them;

  • General web development skills/experience (CSS, HTML, JavaScript);

  • PowerShell or otherscripting skills or experience; and

  • Windows server/network administration skills.
