Excellent opportunity for a software engineering position on the Mission Control Center (MCC) Specialty Software team. This position will provide maintenance and software development for MCC Space Communications Subsystem in support of NASA's Johnson Space Center International Space Station, Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100, and Orion programs. Applicant would work in the MCC COMM Front-End Processing (FEP) area handling the processing of telemetry parameters from the crewed vehicle. The applicant will require full software-lifecycle knowledge using engineering and programming skills. The applicant will work in a team environment and will be responsible for software design, implementation, testing, and user support after the release of the software. Applicant must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required.

Basic Qualifications
B.S degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field. Ten plus year’s work experience in Software development using C++ with UNIX or Linux skills.

Familiarity with supporting software development projects using Object Oriented programming; knowledge of software development using agile practices; strong math background in algebra is also a plus.

This position requires successful completion of a government background check to access government facilities and systems.  Work cannot begin on the NASA program without a fully adjudicated public trust security clearance.  If you are not a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder, this check could take 12 to 18 months to complete.
