CAS is currently seeking a Software Engineer.  This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.


BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience in Information Technology field

Strong technical background, 2+ years related to software development

1 year in a DevOps role supporting builds, deployments, operational support and troubleshooting for a large scale applications platform

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Experience with scripting languages and automation of processes

Strong communication, interpersonal and teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively in agile / scrum environment.

Demonstrated interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies

Desired skills:

Experience with MarkLogic and XML technologies including XQuery
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Experience with Hadoop application development, including the Cascading or Spark frameworkds and other components such as Kafka, HBase, HDFS, etc.


Candidates with an affinity for iterative and collaborative approaches will be part of an expanding DevOps team incorporating coding/scripting and process re-engineering for ongoing operational execution of high volume delivery of scientific content using a variety of Open Source and commercial tools. The individual will be responsible for engaging in design, developing solutions, automation, monitoring applications, loading content and trouble-shooting issues.
