Position Description:  Vocera is looking for a talented, hands-on Software Engineer to join our growing organization. You will be a responsible for the design and implementation of complete integration solutions for rapid delivery of critical events and communications to healthcare professionals to provide improved patient care. The Vocera Engage platform supports dozens of integrations through adapters and enables flexible clinical workflows through a common integration framework and rules engine. You will create new adapters and include them in comprehensive clinical integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and implementation of integrations and clinical workflows on the Vocera Engage platform
  • Collaborate with the Engage platform team to enhance the platform to better support integrations
  • Partner effectively with Product Management and key internal stakeholders to determine product requirements
  • Deploy good engineering practices utilizing Agile/Kanban development methodologies
  • Contribute to the design and develop innovative solutions to fulfill project requirements, independent code development and delivery of features within project timelines
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure features perform to Vocera and customer quality standards
  • Assist in resolving customer integration issues
  • Create and maintain data model design
  • Document designs, ensure traceability of requirements

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent
  • 1+ years of development experience
  • Proficiency with Java, Linux, and databases
  • Knowledge of common networking and messaging protocols such as TCP, UDP, SOAP, REST, and message queues
  • Familiarity with SCM, unit testing, code review processes, Agile/Kanban development methodologies
  • Some experience with client-side frameworks such as AngularJS
  • Track record of delivering high quality technical results within committed time parameters
  • Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel to customer sites as needed
