As a Development Manager, you’ll work with a high-caliber development team responsible for delivering high-quality software for a demanding user base and challenging computational environment. You will work with the CTO, development directors and technical leads to help design, develop and implement engineering best practices across a dynamic development team. Broadway will look to you to own end-to-end product realization delivering projects on-time and on-budget.  You will be a driving force every day to improve how Broadway builds software.



  • Direct software engineering feature teams responsible for the development of products and enhancements across multiple projects
  • Help define, implement and realize benefit from engineering-wide best practices and strategies
  • Manage planning, operations and resource allocation across various products and projects
  • Work with client-facing teams and product management to define product requirements
  • Maintain the Broadway brand and advance Broadway’s impeccable reputation for customer success
  • Champion Broadway’s unique culture and development methodology across all projects and teams
  • Help design and report on engineering-wide performance metrics
  • Provide career development, coaching and performance management for managed staff
  • Be a team player—share information openly, help others, be open to new ideas, and “go the extra mile” when needed



  • Excellent grasp of and track record in applying software engineering principles, life cycle, and best practices
  • Exceptional distributed systems understanding and programming skills
  • Be willing to travel frequently between Broadway Offices (US and Canada)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn a new industry and technology quickly
  • Strong self-management skills, initiative, and ability to juggle multiple disparate projects
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality products on time and on budget
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; Masters preferred



  • At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience in a highly collaborative, startup-like environment
  • At least 3 years of experience managing enterprise software projects
  • At least 5 years of experience leading multi-site teams of 10 or more developers
  • Proven track record of identifying, hiring and retaining top tier software engineering talent
  • Ability to think from a business perspective and balance technical and business goals
  • Knowledge of financial software trading systems is a plus.
