DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for exceptional, motivated software engineers to work in the Kindle Reader organization. As a Software Engineer you will take an exciting and challenging role on a team that is innovating on the Reading experience on mobile devices for millions of Amazon customers. You will work with world-class engineers, business leaders, and other talented engineering teams while you design, architect, and code for Kindle Reader iOS and Android app. You will think big and help to drive architecture decisions on reader platform, app UX experience and service integrations to deliver awesome reader experience. We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented software engineer who has experience building mission critical, high volume applications that customers love.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BS in Computer Science or related field
· 3+ years’ full-time experience in software design and development
· Proficiency with at least one Object Oriented language (Objective C, Java, Swift, Ruby, C/C++)
· Development experience writing application for the iOS or Android mobile platform
· A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects
· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly and get things done

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MS in Computer Science or related field
· Deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture
· Ability to execute on a feature in agile model and polish the feature iteratively
· Experienced driving ambiguous problem areas in existing or new software initiatives
· Proven experience solving complex architecture and business problems with solutions that are extensible, simple, or optimal
· Familiarity providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworks
· Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
