We are the core Software Defined Network (SDN) Data Plane team in OCI. Our team owns a packet processing software stack that provides routing, security and isolation for our customers. We’re looking for a senior leader to scale one of our critical infrastructure services to the next level. As a Director of Product Development, you will manage a team of software engineers responsible for the development of a major networking service in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment which requires agility, and the drive to deliver. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

o 8+ years of management experience
o 7+ years of software development experience
o 5+ years of experience with cloud distributed systems and networking technologies
o Prior experience building large scale systems
o Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields
o Prior development experience with embedded C programming, network protocol implementation, or network packet process
o Experience with Agile, Jira & Confluence
o Experience with CICD, & Ops
o Linux development experience
o Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields
o Embedded systems experience
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
