The ideal candidate will have strong problem solving and programming skills and possess confidence in those abilities. The candidate should have an interest in environmental data management and must be willing and able to perform application and database development support for new and existing information management projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with and taking direction from other members of the team as well as our clients, both internal and external.

Under the direction of Project Managers, you will be responsible for assigned project activities through application of engineering, programming, or scientific principles and techniques and assisting in the completion of project work. These activities may include:

  • Developing custom web applications and other data management tools with oversight
  • Working with environmental data sets and geospatial data
  • Developing independent databases in MySQL or SQL Server to support application development tasks
  • Support stand-alone database applications developed in Microsoft Excel or Access
  • Contribute to dashboard and presentation layer business logic

  • Typical experience range is 0 to 3 years for entry-level positions. No professional experience is necessary, but internships or previous relevant experience is desirable
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar with interest in environmental, sustainability, or water resources data management, MS preferred
  • Web-based application development using CSS/HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Python, C#, ASP.NET, or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Database design and management using MySQL or SQL Server
  • Application integration with GIS tools, including Google Maps or ArcGIS
