The Software Developer will assist and guide Junior Software Developers to understand the system architecture and code structure. They will also work directly with Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop requirements for new systems and features. The Software Developer will design, code and test application programs from written specifications conforming to departmental standards in code structure, maintainable application programs; and apply a variety of programming languages, report generators, applications generators and high-level interpreters as needed to complete difficult programming tasks within given deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform all Junior Software Developer Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists/Guide Junior Developer(s) with assigned work to complete specific tasks to assist in building their technical skills and understanding of environment architecture
  • Guide the advancement of security and quality management initiatives, business processes and programs
  • Participating in the development and execution of technology work plans, timelines and budgets
  • Researches, plans, installs, configures, troubleshoots, maintains and upgrades software environment to enhance compatibility across platforms
  • Researches and recommends hardware and software development toolsets to enhance the development and delivery of applications
  • Development of technical specifications and plans to improve system performance and impact availability
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and output
  • Writes and maintains system documentation and database schema
  • Conducts technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system
  • Assists Architect in designs to enhance the integrate environment
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  • Documents system problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.


A Bachelor's degree and three-to-five years of programming and/or system analysis experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with MS Visual Studio, C#, NET, JavaScript. Experience in full software development life cycle (gathering through development and test to maintenance) and Agile Development Methodology, especially Scrum.

Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Math Ability

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; development software; design software and database software.
