Designs Agilent products and specifies the components that make up the products. Designs and develops products, processes, systems, services or scientific applications using broad engineering concepts and research techniques. Documents research and design specifications. Facilitates transition of product design and enhancement to full production/delivery.

Disciplines:

Research: Designs and implements research studies aimed at new technologies, products and services. Creates new concepts in certain fields. In the Agilent environment, this relates to employees working in Agilent Labs.

Hardware: Designs and develops hardware products.

Software: Designs and develops software programs, products and tools required for the operation and control of programmable products.

IC Design: Designs and develops integrated circuits.

Scientist: Designs and implements research studies aimed at new technologies, products and services in the bioscience field.

  • Works on research and development assignments with broadly defined objectives
  • Solves non-routine issues, challenges and problems within field of specialization

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate capability and have at least 2 years experience with Ruby on Rails (ideally with an enterprise SaaS product)
  • Background in MVC Design and Architecture
  • Worked with an application that has continuous deployment/integration testing/release processes
  • Full stack web development experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Data visualization (e.g. JavaScript charting)
  • Business intelligence and analytics
  • Mobile app development
  • Angular (or other Single Page Application frameworks)
  • SQL database experience/knowledge
  • Experience performing code reviews, enforcing coding standards, and managing technical resources within project schedules
  • Experience designing with RSpec, TDD and CI environments
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or university degree or equivalent. Minimum of 1-2yrs relevant experience with typically 2-4yrs.
