You will play a key role in the rapid expansion and innovation of software tools that support innovative, diverse applications across the entire audio signal chain. You will craft tools for development and debug of software applications and run time configuration for embedded DSP and MCU cores. You will architect new classes of tools for applications in new, critical areas such as high-capacity cloud computing, security services, and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own tooling requirements and software architecture for new designs, modifications, or extensions to existing tools solutions for critical products
  • Lead project planning with crisp work breakdown and effort estimation
  • Chart the course for project execution in the form of work bundle allocation to multiple small teams around the world, backlog grooming, scope creep monitoring and defect triage
  • Identify work packages suited for external contracts, identify and vet contractors, negotiate statements of work, and monitor/manage delivery of project results
  • Facilitate interactions through regular demonstrations, collecting and triaging of internal customer feedback
  • Mentor software developers on design principles to increase the capability and knowledge of development staff
  • Be responsible for the success or failure of tool deployment for one or more Cirrus Logic programs

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 5+ years directly related experience
  • Proven background in software development
  • Strong skills as a software architect
  • Strong and confident communication skills with the ability to adapt to match the audience
  • Eagerness to work iteratively and collaborate with other team members
  • Familiarity with Java, C#, C++, Python
  • Extensive object-oriented programming experience, with demonstrated object-oriented design skills
  • Extensive experience with Agile software development methodology

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Coursework or formal training in a user-experience-related subject
  • Extensive team leadership experience
  • Experience developing software within a semiconductor company
  • Experienceapplying Agile methodologies within a fixed delivery window.
