Manages social feeds and media relations in the promotion of hospital departments, clinics and providers to improve public visibility and reputation. Reinforces and supports marketing campaign objectives as directed by the Marketing Director and/or Administration. Serves as the primary VMC point of contact for media relations and all social media posts and comments. Assists with content development and editing of digital publications and videography for VMC e-news, blogs, online newsroom, social feeds, web content, etc. Serves as community outreach liaison for the hospital and clinic network to provide support for valuable community causes.
BA degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
Minimum of five years media relations experience, preferably in a hospital/healthcare setting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills (example of social mediacampaign, sample press release, media advisory or related materials required).
Experience acting as company spokesperson in crisis communication event.
Experience producing video news releases, press briefings/conferences and other related communication tools.
Experience with video filming and production.
Able to develop and implement strategic, proactive, forward-thinking social media and media plans that support hospital/clinic network objectives.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/department needs and meet tight deadlines.
Experience developing and nurturing key community/media relationships.
Capable of keeping confidential any knowledge acquired concerning patients, employees or organizational matters.
Neat and well-groomed appearance.
Media and social media savvy with strong and creative writing skills.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and various social media tools/applications.
