The Dodo is seeking an efficient, organized and fluent Spanish speaker to join our team as a Social Media Manager for our dedicated Spanish-language brand, El Dodo. We’ve already seen rapid audience growth on El Dodo since our page launched on Facebook and YouTube and we want someone who is excited to continue this momentum and who is motivated to grow with us.

As Social Media Manager, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to help us continue to cultivate our passionate, engaged Spanish-speaking community. You’ll lead all day-to-day operations, sweating both the small stuff -- e.g. scheduling distribution of posts -- while also having a bird’s eye view of how to build an audience, craft social copy that maintains our brand voice, optimize content and grow our pages, with a focus on Facebook and YouTube to start. You will report to our Senior Director of Social.


  • Operate all aspects of the Facebook and YouTube pages, from planning to scheduling to posting
  • Thoughtfully localize English text to Spanish, with an emphasis on achieving a conversational, native voice rather than direct translation
  • Take the lead on researching potential content partnerships with relevant brands to grow our Spanish-speaking audience while nurturing relationships with current partners
  • Be a thought leader in recommending and implementing unique, relevant content that doesn’t already exist on The Dodo that will make the page resonate with a local audience
  • Work closely with the editorial and video production teams to optimize content
  • Play an active role in refining our overall content and distribution strategy for our Spanish presence, and help formulate tactical recommendations as the cultural and media landscape evolves
  • Monitor and share growth and engagement analytics and identify areas of optimization/improvement
  • Recruit and manage a small team of Spanish-speaking video editors
  • Have the foresight to anticipate issues in workflow or content performance and present manager with possible actionable solutions. Able to think outside the day-to-day to find creative scalable solutions (i.e.: work smarter not harder).


  • 3+ years of relevant experiencewith demonstrated success in social media community management, community building, social media strategies, and outreach
  • Bilingual (native English and Spanish speaker)
  • Strong interest in the overall mission of expanding a successful U.S.-based brand to an international audience
  • A passion for The Dodo brand specifically and social media as a whole
  • Good editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture The Dodo’s voice in Spanish
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills are a MUST
  • An aptitude for social media analytics, and the desire to connect data learnings to overall strategy in a meaningful way
  • Experience with Facebook Insights, YouTube analytics and other third-party data reporting tools are a plus
  • Someone who can think quick on their feet, work independently, and be resourceful when it comes to problem-solving, but who also loves to collaborate with a team
  • International work experience a plus
